- Lucy enjoys working with families and other professionals to gather a complete picture of the child’s strengths and difficulties, and help the child to learn and communicate effectively in their world. Lucy has particular interests in early language development, speech sound disorders, autism, and other disabilities. She aims to make sessions fun and engaging for children, and provide follow up strategies and activities that are easily implemented in the home or school environment. Her favourite aspect of being a speech pathologist is forming positive relationships with children and their caregivers, and celebrating both the big and small successes with them along the way. Lucy has been practicing Speech Pathology since 2004 after graduating from the University of Queensland, Brisbane. She has worked in hospitals, state and private schools and disability services across rural and metropolitan areas of Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia, as both a sole therapist and in multi-disciplinary teams. Her varied employment history has allowed her to gain knowledge and therapeutic skills required for many areas of pediatric speech pathology, and general child development.
